| Call it serendipity or the beginning of a wonderful musical partnership. The two worlds of pianist Sherry Lenich and cellist Ian Ginsburg first intersected when Ian heard Sherry accompanying the Arizona Arts Chorale in concert in the spring of 2002. Having heard Sherry tackle a difficult Brahms song for mixed voices, Ian knew that Sherry was the pianist and musical partner he wanted to launch DuoWest with. Yet because of their busy schedules it would be a year before Ian and Sherry were able to begin rehearsing for the first series of concerts in 2004. As Sherry’s tenure as President of the Arizona Music teachers Association ended and Ian completed the script for a new Action Comedy, (as he is a screenwriter as well as cellist), Sherry and Ian agreed that it was time to dig into the music. |
